This two day training camp is packed with windsurfing related games and activities to help children gain their RYA Junior Windsurf Stage 1. It teaches juniors the basics of windsurfing so that they can confidently sail a basic course and turn round, and how to launch & land. At the end of the two days, your child will be fully confident to continue straight on to the next level.
Compact Course Options: The beginner course (RYA Stage 1) is also available as a compact course run over two mornings (09:30-13:30). This is the pre-requisite course for membership to Saturday Club and will enable you to hire kit to sail, where you will be able to further develop your skills. This camp provides plenty of time on the water to enable chldren to really build confidence and get to grips with key skills such as stance, tacking and gybing. Upwind sailing ability is developed and some theory introduced. On completion of this camp they can still come to Junior Club, or Youth Night depending on their age.

If you child is really keen on windsurfing, why not book them on the four full day camp package. This includes RYA Stage 1 and 2 running from Monday to Thursday in one week, or over two consecutive weeks. It is only currently possible to book the 1 & 2 over four consecutive days online. If you wish to book the package over two consecutive weeks please call the centre.

This camp aims to really progress the student, developing stance and control with more advanced equipment. With plenty of games and activities, we work on developing tacking and gybing skills. Don't worry if it doesn't seem very windy on the course as we also make plenty of use of our board simulator for introduction to skills such as harnessing. Certificates are awarded once a student has successfully attained the level (which may take further practice sessions), but rest assured your child will finish this camp having had plenty of practice and time on the water.

This fun-packed camp is aimed that those who have either completed the RYA Stage 3 course and are ready to develop their confidence in stronger winds. With lots of time on the water there is plenty of emphasis on stance and transitions. We also work on the simulator to consoldate harnessing technique and introduce footstraps and planing techniques. Certificates are awarded once a student has successfully attained the level (which may take further practice sessions).
Compact Course Package: The RYA Stage 4 course can be undertaken as a compact non certificated course that runs mornings only from 09:30-13:30. Cost £120.
Juniors' Saturday Club - once qualified in a sport (RYA, BCU), juniors can become members and attend the Juniors Club that is held every Saturday morning between 9.30 and 11.30am. Junior Club is a great way for kids to start the weekend and meet other enthusiasts in their sport. Membership fees are minimal and Junior Club attendees receive use of all equipment at reduced costs and can practice under the careful supervision of qualified instructors. Please ask the team for membership details and rates - starts March.
Youth Night - Youth membership allows attendance to Youth Night that takes place on Wednesdays and is open to all young people over 13 who are minimum stage 3 youth scheme or level 1 adult scheme in their sport. T15 windsurfing race training and dinghy race training also take place at this time.
This RYA Start Windsurfing Course has been created specifically for those of you that are new to the sport of windsurfing, and is designed to get you on the water using some of the latest, user-friendly windsurfing equipment and to instruct you using the latest RYA coaching techniques. This course introduces the basic elements of windsurfing that will enable you to sail and turn around, safely, launch and get to know your kit. Upon completion it allows the student to hire equipment with parental/guardian permission. There is weekend availability on adult courses at the adult price rate.
This is a training course that will ground you in the basic skills of the fastfwd Formula; you will become familiar with the five elements of the formula (vision, trim, balance, power and stance) and learn how to apply them in all areas of your windsurfing; here we focus on improving stance, getting to grips with the harness, and an introduction to more dynamic transitions like fast tacks, and gybes as well as leaving the shore in style; students move onto faster boards and performance sails, as well as gaining a greater sense of windsurfing safety. This RYA Intermediate Progression course covers a broad spectrum of skills. It is the perfect next step for anyone who has completed the Fastfwd Improver course, or who has used the harness and wishes to develop. It can be revisited as a clinic for those wishing to work on specific skills such as footstraps, gybes, tacks and stance because it builds on each individuals existing knowledge. This course is ideal as an assessment for those looking to gain the RYA Intermediate certificate.
We use the fastfwd formula to develop use of the harness and introduce footstraps; practice and develop the non planing carve gybe; using the fastfwd formula we will provide you with all the skills required for handling larger sails and lower volume boards in stronger winds; the course content includes rigging, launching and recovery, harness work, footstraps, power control and planing skills. Our aim is to focus on improving stance, getting to grips with the harness, and an introduction to more dynamic transitions like fast tacks, and gybes as well as leaving the shore in style.
