This Paddlesports instructor course is the starting point for aspiring Paddlesports coaches. Training will consist of on water practical sessions and theory sessions. You will learn coaching techniques, course management and group control; you will develop your theoretical knowledge, communication and presenting skills. Successful completion of this course will provide you with a professional qualification enabling you to work in the UK as a recognised BCU instructor. This is a training course to prepare you for the work that needs to be documented before attending a BC Level 2 Coach Assessment. The FSRT course is run in conjunction with Level One and Two Coach Training Courses (subject to demand). Fundamentally this course is designed for all paddlers irrespective of craft. The objective is to teach simple and safe skills that can be applied appropriately. It aims to provide the student with the key safety and rescue skills required to operate safely in a sheltered water environment and to be able to deal with common emergencies. It is a prerequisite for level One & Two BCU Coach courses.
